Gram's House is an older home. She was born there in 1900 - an after thought - her brother and sister being at least 15 years older than her. She grew up in the house then married and stayed there, looking after her parents as they were, by then, elderly. Gramp enlarged the home and was one of the first on the island to have the luxury of indoor plumbing! Gram tended the gardens supplying us with peas in the pod and, of course, Saturday nights with beans and homemade rolls. They were wonderful grandparents leaving us with many happy memories.

The main floor has the washer and dryer located in the oversized kitchen. Its contents include a full size fridge, stove and microwave. There are two picture windows in the kitchen by the table. The view from here overlooks the village of Seal Cove and The Sound ( Bay of Fundy). The pantry, left as Gram had it, is fully equipped. All the necessary pots, pans, dishes and silverware are there. There is also a coffee pot for that first cup in the morning and a lobster pot for a delicious feed of lobsters come evening.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms. Three of them have a double bed and the fourth - my fathers childhood room - has a single. All bedding including extra pillows are provided. The upstairs bathroom beckons for long hot soaks in it's deep old fashioned tub. Towels and faceclothes are all there.

The living room is furnished in Gram's green and burgundy over stuffed crushed velvet furniture. Cable television and a telephone complete the modern conveniences.

There is a clothes line on the back porch for hanging out your clothes in the fresh clean breeze. The clothes pins in Gram's old wicker laundry basket love to be used.

A full length sunroom fronts the water. The original crocinole board awaits a friendly evening game while relaxing and watching the sunset. A favorite spot for guests.
